Suffern FD requested mutual aid from several fire departments for a major brush fire. Tallman responded with 20-Tanker and 20-Mini Pumper. The blaze took several hours to extinguish.
The fire came during a dry, windy stretch of early spring weather that fueled several brush fires across the Lower Hudson Valley that week, including a larger blaze in the hills near Harriman State Park that drew 117 firefighters from New York and New Jersey. Fire officials reminded residents to call 911 immediately at the first sign of smoke, since brush fires are far easier to contain while still small.
