As an all-volunteer department, every dollar goes straight into equipment, training, and keeping the house running.

Why it matters

The Tallman Fire Department is 100% volunteer — no member draws a salary to respond to the 800+ calls we answer each year. Every one of us has a day job, and every one of us drops it, day or night, when the tones go off. What keeps us ready to do that isn't a city budget line — it's donations from neighbors like you.

Your gift goes straight into the things that keep this department running: turnout gear and SCBA that meet current safety standards, fuel and maintenance for a fleet that has to start every single time, the certifications and hands-on training that keep our members sharp, and the everyday upkeep of the firehouse itself — heat, lights, and a roof over the apparatus that protects your home.

We've been answering calls in Tallman, Airmont, Montebello, and the surrounding communities since 1909 — one volunteer department, one firehouse, generation after generation. A donation of any size helps make sure that when someone calls for help, we're able to answer. Thank you for standing behind the people who show up for you.
