Tallman provided mutual aid to a house fire on Airmont Avenue in Mahwah, NJ, at a home owned by Darryl and Jackie Secor near Secor Farm. The homeowner discovered the fire and suffered minor burns attempting to extinguish it before help arrived, and was treated at the scene.
All five Mahwah fire companies responded, along with mutual aid from Ramsey, Wyckoff, and Tallman. The fire was brought under control in about half an hour, though crews remained on scene for several hours extinguishing hot spots. An initial investigation pointed to an accidental start on an overhang connected to the house, which then spread through the structure.
