Tallman Firefighters Participate in FDNY Seminar on Storm Pre Planning

The Tallman Fire Department sent Commissioners and firefighters Mike Aguilar and Gene Fox to the FDNY Training Center on Randalls Island to participate in a 2-day session on pre-planning for major storms, operational control during storms, and operations post-storm.

Firefighters from across the United States participated in this training seminar. Presenters included FDNY Commissioner Sal Cassano, Chief of Department Ed Kilduff, Chief of Training Ed Galvin, and a host of other FDNY Chiefs.

Each participant was given several PowerPoint presentations and operational forms to use for their future planning purposes.

All of the information was gathered from Hurricanes Irene and Superstorm Sandy, and highlighted lessons learned and best practices for all fire departments to integrate into their operating procedures.
