With the huge number of trucks on the NY State Thruway carrying a wide variety of hazardous materials, as well as the increased use of freight trains with hazardous substances onboard, it’s essential for firefighters to quickly determine the level of danger and the actions that need to be taken to ensure the safety of residents and firefighters.
