Two people were killed on the New York State Thruway in Ramapo when a northbound truck apparently crossed into oncoming traffic, triggering a crash involving two other trucks and a car. All southbound lanes were closed, with traffic diverted off the highway at Exit 15 in Mahwah, New Jersey, and one northbound lane closed as well, causing extensive delays.

The crash occurred just before 10 a.m. and involved a tractor-trailer, two box trucks, and an additional vehicle. One person, a passenger in one of the trucks, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver was extricated from the truck and taken in extremely critical condition to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, where he was later pronounced dead.
