A fire involving concrete framing plates on the back of a truck at College Road and Route 59 was handled efficiently thanks to a quick, strategic response from the Tallman Fire Department and Ramapo Police.

By the time firefighters arrived, the fire had already burned out. Rather than wetting down the truck at the busy intersection — which would have caused significant traffic delays — crews made the call to escort the truck to the nearby Tallman firehouse instead. Shortly after arriving, the fire reignited, but firefighters were already in position and quickly brought it fully under control.

The incident was resolved safely, with no injuries reported and minimal disruption to traffic.
